Are Testosterone Boosters Steroids?
Are testosterone boosters steroids? No. Herbal boosters are dietary supplements, while steroids and prescription testosterone are drugs. The risk is that some products have hidden drugs, including steroids, that the label does not list. SodaPeak lists no steroid and is not a steroid alternative.

Are testosterone boosters steroids?
No. A testosterone booster is a dietary supplement, usually a mix of herbs, vitamins and minerals, not a hormone.
Researchers who reviewed 50 boosters found 109 different ingredients. Zinc, fenugreek, vitamin B6, Tribulus and Maca were common (Clemesha et al. on T-booster claims (SMSNA summary)). None of those is an anabolic steroid.
The word "booster" is a sales label, not a drug class.
How do boosters differ from prescription testosterone?
Prescription testosterone is a hormone treatment that begins with a diagnosis. A booster is a capsule sold without one.
| Question | Herbal booster | Hormone treatment |
|---|---|---|
| What is it? | A supplement of herbs, minerals or vitamins | A hormone drug |
| How does it start? | You buy it | Symptoms plus low morning tests (Endocrine Society, Testosterone Therapy Guideline) |
| Who decides? | You | A doctor |
Can a testosterone booster hide steroids?
Yes, some products have. Harvard Health reported that FDA had found more than 500 supplements adulterated with drugs, including stimulants, steroids and erectile dysfunction drugs (Harvard Health, Supplements Promise More Than They Deliver).
Products sold for sexual enhancement, weight loss or bodybuilding are the usual suspects, and "natural" on a label does not make one safe (NCCIH, Using Dietary Supplements Wisely). FDA says it cannot test every product (FDA public notification, hidden drugs (SexRx)).
A clean ingredient list therefore does not prove a clean capsule. Report a problem product to FDA through MedWatch (FDA MedWatch, adverse event reporting).

No. SodaPeak is a capsule supplement whose label lists eight ingredients and no steroid hormone.
Two lines deserve a plain word. Wild yam holds diosgenin, a plant compound, but nothing shows the body turns it into hormones (MSK, Wild Yam). Orchic substance is an animal gland extract, and there is no evidence it is a good source of testosterone (RxList, Orchic Extract).
We have no lab test of the product, so we cannot rule out contamination. The lot number is a seller reference, not lab proof.

From the Supplement Facts panel. The eight lines are the 1,200 mg blend, listed from most to least by weight (21 CFR 101.36 (Supplement Facts, proprietary blends)). Other ingredients (calcium carbonate, cellulose, sodium starch glycolate, stearic acid, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, the gelatin capsule) are not counted.
What should you do if you want more than a supplement?
Talk to a doctor. Low drive, tiredness and weaker erections have many causes, and testing comes first.

FAQ01
SodaPeak questions people ask
Do testosterone boosters contain steroids?
Properly made herbal boosters should not, and the label is meant to list every ingredient. But FDA has found products adulterated with drugs, steroids among them, that the label did not show (Harvard Health, Supplements Promise More Than They Deliver).
Is SodaPeak an anabolic steroid alternative?
No. SodaPeak is a dietary supplement with eight listed ingredients, and no trial has tested it. It claims only "Supports Healthy Muscle*". It does not replace any steroid, hormone or medicine.
How can you tell if a supplement hides a steroid?
You often cannot from the label. A USP or NSF seal shows quality testing, not effectiveness (Harvard Health, Supplements Promise More Than They Deliver). Choose short ingredient lists, buy from sellers with returns, and report problems through MedWatch.
