Is It Safe to Buy Supplements on eBay?
Buying supplements on eBay carries the same risks as any online shop: you cannot see the product first, and eBay does not vouch for what is inside. Check the seller, the item location, the expiry date and the return terms. eBay's Money Back Guarantee covers items not as described (eBay Money Back Guarantee).

Is it safe to buy supplements on eBay?
It can be, if you treat the listing as a claim to check. eBay is a marketplace, so protection comes from its rules and your own checks.
The Money Back Guarantee covers most purchases paid for on eBay when an item does not arrive, is not as described, or the seller does not honor its return policy (eBay Money Back Guarantee). It does not tell you what is in a bottle.
FDA does not approve supplements before sale, so the label is your starting point (FDA, Information for Consumers on Dietary Supplements).
What should you check before you buy?
Check four things: the seller, the item location, the expiry date and the return terms.
- 01
Read the listing line by line
Note the seller, where the item ships from, the expiry date and the return terms.
- 02
Compare it with the label
Ingredients in the listing should match the Supplement Facts panel.
- 03
Pay on eBay
Paying outside eBay is not covered by the guarantee.
- 04
Keep the proof
Save the order number, photos of the box and bottle, and tracking.

FAQ01
SodaPeak questions people ask
Are supplements sold on eBay checked by eBay?
No source we cite says eBay checks what is inside a supplement. FDA does not approve supplements before sale either. The Money Back Guarantee covers items not as described, so compare the listing with the label.
Does the eBay Money Back Guarantee cover supplements bought outside eBay checkout?
No. Paying outside eBay is not covered. A chargeback with the payment provider for the same transaction can also close the eBay case. Pay through eBay and keep your order number.
What is a safe expiry date on a supplement listing?
We found no rule that sets one. Look for a printed date that is well ahead of today and matches the bottle. The SodaPeak listing prints 07-2028. Ask the seller if no date is shown.
