Do Testosterone Boosters Work? The Evidence in Plain Terms
Do testosterone boosters work? For most products, the evidence is weak. A review of 50 over-the-counter boosters found that more than 60% had no research behind their claims. Low testosterone is a medical diagnosis made with blood tests. No trial has tested SodaPeak.

Do testosterone boosters work?
Most over-the-counter testosterone boosters have little proof behind their claims.
Researchers reviewed 50 such products. More than 60% had no scientific research supporting their claims. Only 5.5% had more than two studies on testosterone effects. About 90% claimed to raise testosterone, yet only about a quarter of those claims had supporting data (Clemesha et al. on T-booster claims (SMSNA summary)).
That does not mean every ingredient does nothing. It means a buyer usually cannot tell which ones do.
Why are the results of booster studies mixed?
Results are mixed because the ingredients differ, the doses differ, and the men studied differ.
In that review, about 25% of ingredients were linked to higher testosterone, 18% to no change and 10% to lower levels (Clemesha et al. on T-booster claims (SMSNA summary)). A typical product listed about eight ingredients, so the effect of any one is hard to separate.
| Ingredient | Finding |
|---|---|
| Tongkat ali | Testosterone rose in men with low levels, not in healthy men (Leisegang et al., Medicina 2022 (E. longifolia)) |
| DHEA, androstenedione | No strength or lean-mass gains in trials (NIH ODS, Exercise & Athletic Performance) |
| Tribulus terrestris | No effect on strength, lean mass or sex hormones (NIH ODS, Exercise & Athletic Performance) |
How is low testosterone actually diagnosed?
Low testosterone is diagnosed with symptoms plus two early-morning blood tests on separate days, not with a supplement.
The American Urological Association calls a total testosterone below 300 ng/dL a reasonable cutoff, and says a low number alone is not enough (AUA, Testosterone Deficiency Guideline). Tiredness, low drive and weaker erections have many other causes. Keep taking prescribed medicine, and see a doctor if symptoms last for weeks.

See packsDoes SodaPeak work as a testosterone booster?
No trial shows that SodaPeak works as a testosterone booster. The bottle claims only "Supports Healthy Muscle*".
The blend is named "Test Boost Proprietary Blend", but the label makes no testosterone claim. It lists eight ingredients in 1,200 mg and prints no single amount, so even an ingredient with a study cannot be matched to the capsule.
The SodaPeak benefits page lines each claim up against the evidence.
What has better evidence than a booster?
Sleep has better evidence. In one small trial, a week of 5-hour nights lowered young men's testosterone by roughly 10% (Leproult & Van Cauter, JAMA 2011 (sleep and testosterone)).
That is a short study of ten men, but it points to a cheaper first step. More on the causes is in testosterone and aging.

FAQ01
SodaPeak questions people ask
How would I know if a testosterone booster is working?
You would need two early-morning blood tests, before and after, read by a doctor. Feeling better is not proof, since sleep, mood and training also change. A booster is not a test or a treatment (AUA, Testosterone Deficiency Guideline).
Do natural testosterone boosters work better than pills?
Nothing we found shows that. Natural herbs still lack good human trials for most claims (Clemesha et al. on T-booster claims (SMSNA summary)). Natural does not mean safe, and the form matters less than the evidence.
Can a booster fix low testosterone in older men?
No booster has been shown to do that. Low testosterone in older men is a medical question for a doctor, who tests and looks for a cause before any treatment.
