Why do blends hide the amount of each ingredient?
A proprietary blend lists only its combined weight, not the weight of each ingredient (21 CFR 101.36 (Supplement Facts, proprietary blends)).
The ingredients must be listed from most to least by weight. So line k of eight can weigh at most 1,200 mg divided by k. An even split would be 150 mg each.

Boron is one reason to be careful. Its upper limit for adults is 20 mg a day, and the amount in the blend is not printed (NIH ODS, Boron). Capsules and tablets follow the same rule: count what the serving says, not what is easy to swallow.
