Tongkat Ali Benefits: Hype or Evidence?

What are the benefits of tongkat ali?
The best-supported finding is narrow: tongkat ali was linked to a rise in total testosterone in men with hypogonadism, not in healthy men (Leisegang et al., Medicina 2022 (E. longifolia)).
The review pooled five randomized trials with 232 men in total. The authors list serious limits, including very high heterogeneity and signs of publication bias.
A separate safety review notes mild rises in total testosterone with no change in free testosterone (LiverTox, Tongkat Ali).

Why do tongkat ali results vary so much?
Results vary because the products vary. Some market products may contain no eurycomanone or fall outside recommended levels (Leisegang et al., Medicina 2022 (E. longifolia)).
Extract purity is not standardized, and the trials used different doses. A result for one product does not carry over to another.
SodaPeak lists "Tongkat Ali Powder (Eurycoma Longifolia Jack) Root". The label does not say how much eurycomanone the powder holds.
How much tongkat ali is in SodaPeak?
